Biography

Dr. Ki Soo Hwang is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic spinal surgeon, specializing in the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, managing pediatric and adult patients who suffer from debilitating spinal disorders.

After graduating from University of Rochester with honors, Dr. Hwang attended New Jersey Medical School and completed orthopedic surgery training at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.  As an orthopedic resident, Dr. Hwang spent a year dedicated to researching spinal deformity under Dr. Jean Pierre Farcy. He then completed the prestigious University of California at San Francisco Spinal Surgery Fellowship.  Dr. Hwang has been treating patients from North New Jersey and New York City area for more than 15 years.

Dr. Hwang teaches orthopedic residents, spine surgery fellows, and other practicing spinal surgeons around the world in leading-edge surgical and nonsurgical spine management.  He routinely lectures and performs clinical teaching at national and international spine conferences.  While maintaining a busy clinical practice, he remains academically involved and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the field of spinal surgery.
